How does laser hair removal work?

A laser produces a beam of highly concentrated light. Light emitted by the Laser is absorbed only by the pigment located within the hair follicles. The laser pulses for a fraction of a second, just long enough to vaporize the pigment, disabling several follicles at a time. This either eliminates or significantly reduces the hair's ability to grow back.

Is this treatment safe?

Laser hair removal has become a safe and reliable hair removal method. Different skin types respond differently to this treatment. The Soprano ICE is FDA cleared for permanent hair reduction on all skin types.

What does the treatment feel like?

The Soprano ICE gradually heats the skin to a temperature that effectively damages the hair follicles and prevents hair from growing back. The ICE™ tech cools the skin, preventing burns and allowing for virtually painless, yet hightly effective hair removal.

Are there side effects?

Short-term side effects may include slight reddening of the skin or local swelling which typically lasts less than an hour. In very rare instances, there may be some blistering.

Does skin color make a difference?

Our advanced technology enables us to provide customized treatment, no matter what skin type you have. Whether you have light, dark or even tanned skin, coarse or fine hair, Soprano ICE achieves complete and effective hair removal that's safe, quick and best of all, virtually painless.

How many treatments are required?

The number of treatments required for optimal, long-term benefits depends on the area you wish to have treated, your hair's density and growth cycle. Age, ethnicity, weight, hormones, diet, medication and metabolism all play a part in the way your hair responds to the treatment. On an average for lighter skinned and darker haired patients, three or more treatments may be needed. At the time of your consultation, a realistic assessment of the number of treatments for permanent hair reduction will be discussed with you.

Are there any restrictions on my activity after treatment?

After your treatment, the affected area is cleansed and you may return to your normal activities immediately. We may recommend that you use a skin care regime specially formulated for your skin type after laser treatments. As always, it is a good idea to limit your sun exposure. The use of a good sunscreen is recommended on any treated areas that will be exposed to the sun. This is discussed in more detail during your consultation.
